A message through time, for Netflix
A message to your father, sent up a tree.
An installation in Madrid for the launch of The Adam Project on Netflix, around Father's Day 2022. Visitors scanned a QR code on one of 25 six-metre trees and recorded a message to their father. A pulse of light climbed the tree, and the messages played back as a soundscape.
Each of the 25 trees, real trees six metres tall, carried custom embedded hardware that captured, processed and played back the voice notes, turning Madrid's Plaza de España into a sound canvas in March 2022. A message recorded on a phone through a web app became light climbing the trunk to the lamp at the top, then joined the soundscape of the forest.
