Mixeat

Measuring food portions without weighing them

Portions measured without a scale.

Mixeat measures food portions with 3D-printed containers, so someone on a diet sees how much to eat without weighing anything or counting calories: a healthy relationship with food rather than an exact one. We built its web side in Ruby on Rails: the app, the shop for the measuring kit and a visualiser of the portions.

The kit is a set of containers modelled as STL files and printed in 3D, each one sized to a portion. The Rails application we built carries the home page, the shop with its product pages and a visualiser that shows the portions on screen, and the work began in 2015.
