The Sub
Multiplayer game with beer-tap controllers
Beer taps as game controllers.
A four-player rhythm game for a Heineken event launching THE SUB, its home draught beer tap. Players compete with controllers built from real SUB taps. We made the game and the hardware with Espadaysantacruz: Arduino inside the taps, openFrameworks on screen.
Each controller is a real SUB tap with an Arduino inside, feeding a rhythm game written in C++ on openFrameworks, with the music running through Ableton and the four scores live on the big screen. It was played at Heineken's launch event in 2015, made with Espadaysantacruz on top of the studio's own guitar game.
