Everyday tasks, practised in virtual reality.
A virtual reality therapy platform for Lescer, a neurological rehabilitation centre in Madrid. Patients with acquired brain injury practise everyday tasks, like crossing a street or shopping, with Oculus Rift, Leap Motion and a treadmill, and each session is recorded to adjust the treatment.
Inside each scene the patient walks on a real treadmill and reaches out with their own hands, tracked by Leap Motion, while the Oculus Rift places them in a street, a supermarket, a kitchen or an open field. It was built in 2016 with Unity and openFrameworks, and every session is recorded so the therapist can follow the progress and adjust the treatment.
